When it comes to saying “I do,” there’s nothing more magical than a destination wedding. Picture exchanging vows against your favorite backdrop of azure and vibrant sunsets. One such enchanting location is Los Cabos, Mexico. Known for its breathtaking beauty and warm hospitality, Los Cabos has become a popular choice for couples seeking an unforgettable wedding experience.
In this blog post, we’ll explore the allure of a tasting of the four elements symbolic wedding ceremony in Cabo, performed by the amazing Jennifer Garone from Small Circle Ceremonies for my amazing and loving clients Collin and Matt.
Symbolic wedding ceremonies have gained popularity among couples looking for a non-legally binding celebration of their love. Los Cabos provides the perfect backdrop for such ceremonies, allowing couples to customize their special day without the constraints of legal requirements. Whether you envision an intimate ceremony on a secluded beach or a grand celebration at a luxurious in land resort as Acre Resort, Cabo offers a myriad of options to suit your preferences.
One of the most beautiful aspects of a symbolic wedding ceremony in Los Cabos is its inclusivity. Mexico legalized same-sex marriage in 2015, and Los Cabos has embraced this progressive stance, welcoming couples from all walks of life to celebrate their love. The destination’s acceptance and warm hospitality create an atmosphere of love and acceptance, making it an ideal location for same-sex weddings.
For their wedding, Collin and Matt wanted something unique as their relationship. Along with their ceremony officiant Jennifer, they came up with the amazing idea of a tasting of the four elements ceremony, or a Deconstructed Spicy Mezcal Mezcalita, Feat of Strength, as they decided to call it.
In Jennifer’s words, this ceremony takes inspiration from a yoruba wedding tradition, the couple will taste something bitter, sour, spicy and sweet. These flavors are standing in for the full spectrum of emotions and states of being you might feel as you navigate married life together.
First they tasted the bitter mezcal. A life lived honestly and openly will know its moments of denial and rejection and dejection. May they always have the strength to move through the bitter moments of life and love with kindness and tenderness for each other.
Second they tasted the sour flavor of lime, representing all those times in life which might feel inharmonious, a little rancid, or less than perfect. May they always have the presence of mind and heart to move through the sour moments of life and love with patience and understanding.
Third, they tasted the hot cayenne. For sure there is spice and passion and straight up hotness in every enduring relationship. May they always have the wisdom to know when life and love needs a good dose of muy picante, and the will to act on it.
And finally, taste now the sweet agave. For truly…. if you can hold the sour, the bitter, and even the spicy with equanimity, it is promised that Collin and Matt’s days will be even sweeter than agave.
A symbolic wedding ceremony in Los Cabos is an idyllic choice for couples seeking a magical and inclusive destination wedding experience. With its natural beauty, welcoming atmosphere, and abundance of luxurious venues, Cabo has become a favorite choice for couples from around the world. Whether you’re planning a same-sex wedding or simply looking for a breathtaking backdrop to exchange vows, Los Cabos promises to create memories that will last a lifetime. Say “I do” in paradise and embark on your journey of love against the backdrop of this enchanting Mexican destination.
